      It could be many things: Heavy Weight Incorrect Form - May be too fast, wrong angle, etc Injuries Pulled Muscle Incorrect prep & after care (inadequate stretching and exercise including warm ups) Hope this helps!🙏

    That's hip extension, not back extension. The movement is all at the hip joint. His back is in the neutral position and doesn't flex or extend. It stays stationary. Yes it is true that your back extensors are contracting to maintain the neutral spin. Especially when lifting up. Your anterior core is also working hard not to allow back extension, particularly lumbar extension. So it's a great core exercise as well as hip extension.

Everything was secure and in good shape. No weird smells. The weight changing mechanism is really smooth and straight forward. Changing weight is really fast and easy. Though the handle is plastic, I don't think it will be breaking anytime soon. So far pretty impressed after my first session with them. I was afraid they were going to be too wide at first, but I didn't have any issues with them while doing upright rows.
